Truth, Change and the long opportune road ahead

These are some of the things that I ended up sharing in some of the recent conversations with clients and friends:

There is still a teenager in every grown up and that’s something we need to factor while designing a #change intervention.

*—————————————————————-

Not everybody has the capacity to handle #truth or value truth even if it's a truth you are sharing about yourself.

It scares most people into thinking that the same degree of #radicalhonesty would be expected of them as well. Share accordingly even as you practice radical transparency and truth about yourself.

“You must always speak the truth but not all truths must be spoken.” - an interesting line I came across last year.

And on this, an ex colleague shared two responses one of which was a line from her boss: “You need to have a better relationship with truth.”

Second was something she came across on Instagram few days back: “Today I will do a service and not speak my mind.”

*—————————————————————-

“I still have a long way to go till I reach your position.”

And I replied, yes, you still have a long way.

The subtle intonation made all the profound difference in the meaning of both the statements.

#Reframe is a powerful tool in #NLP.

And then I continued, A long opportunity to go, be, become, do and have. You are where I was 18 years ago. That’s advantage; take advantage of it. You will get to do things that I may not have time to do.

And then I shared with him the 3-I formula I learnt from one of my earlier bosses which helped me grow and reach wherever I am on my journey in the world of training, design and delivery.

And then I shared my favourite line by my favourite Hindi lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi sahib - “Kal aur ayenge mujhse behtar kehne waaley…”
