Sufiana composition in leadership training

An epic photo of true leadership

Image
This is possibly the best picture I have ever seen of true leadership after that of President Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Noor Inayat Khan, Vinoba Bhaveji, Lal Bahadur Shastriji, General Sam Manekshaw, Second Lts. RR Rane and Arun Khetarpal and President Nelson Mandela to say the least.  👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽😌😌🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Even though I learnt later on from my cousin brother in law that this photo was taken on 9th April 2021, it still speaks volumes, symbolically. Thanks a lot for this Manpreet. And today I came across this from my senior friend and well wisher Arun Vishwanath - an article written by the well known Psychologist Adam Grant. Thanks a lot for this Arun Vishwanath - CPF, CPC, PCC . Completely agree with this piece by Adam Grant . Thanks a lot Adam, for this: https://adamgrant.bulletin.com/ukraine-s-president-is-not-a-lion-who-found-his-roar/

The title for my second book...

Image
Over the last two months I have been in the process of writing my second book after a gap of about 18 years. I was in search of an apt title for my book given that certain portions of the book could upset some people or that it could become slightly controversial and that's when as if by "magic" or sheer "coincidence", I came across this video on YouTube during my lunchtime yesterday. And in the video I found this message scribbled by a prisoner named Ronald L Sanford on his prison cell wall. Sharing the message as well as the link to the video. And as it is said in the book The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, there are really no coincidences in this world. The link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tqypS2cm0g

The peculiar case of tumour and humour

Image
I was just now watching this TEDx talk from 2016 delivered at the Tel Aviv University by Eyal Eltawil. I came across this yesterday thanks to a question my good friend and well wisher Prasad Bartakke asked me on one of my LinkedIn posts. I came across this TED talk when I went online to find the YouTube link to another TED talk on role of humour in leadership. It reminded me of one of the all time Indian movie classics in Hindi - Anand that came out in March 1971 and it looked like Eyal was the Israeli Anand on a concoction of opioids and steroids of a better kind. I highly recommend everyone to watch this short 15 minute TED talk -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-82DsjuXOpA titled - The Cancer that died of laughter.  Towards the end of it, it struck me all of a sudden that there is a connection between the English words tumour and humour. They both have the same number of and almost the same set of letters with the difference being only in the starting letter. And that we ...

An introduction to Game-a-Thons of a better kind

A great 5 minute video on my friend Manish Freeman about the Game-a-Thons he has created and played since at least 2015 when I first took part in them. They are great experiences that brings people together and unleashes energy, synergy, laughter, creativity and positive action. https://youtu.be/29tE3uFCRMU

Creating Healing Spaces

Image
As I listened to this simple and profound TED talk by Esther Sternberg, I was reminded of all the things I learnt from Robert Dilts 's neurological levels model; Dr. Marshall Goldsmith 's work, especially his book Triggers on the role our environments play in our well-being and performance and Prof. Raj Sisodia 's work on The Healing Organisation ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWs6HFOkNEY ) Ms. Sternberg highlights for us what essentially our souls have known all along. Sharing it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zBOPRs1yRE Also sharing this final link here on Architecture that heals - ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxBe5rCKbH4 ) even though there's a treasure trove waiting out there. "Turn the searchlight inwards"

Image
I was just now talking to a young colleague who was putting together a design on accountability and wanted my input on it. Leadership, taking ownership, initiative and responsibility sometimes become mere fancy punchlines that are casually thrown around quite a lot. We can see some people use these words without really understanding what these words truly mean in terms of day to day implications on our choices, behaviour and the impact they create at multiple levels. And what is easier for people with no honourable values, low self-esteem and higher insecurities is to constantly find ways to blame others, invent mistakes in others and keep a constant attack on others to keep a certain searchlight away from them while constantly keeping another type of spotlight on themselves. I am waiting for the day when accountability and that too, personal accountability becomes such a common place phenomena that it is no more a buzz word. That's when things go to the next orbit. But well, for t...
